Short-term staff exchange (SE)1, CUT team members visited Milano (WP4)
The first Short term staff Exchange (SE1) of CUT staff to POLIMI premises of ENGINEER project was held as a 3-day event in Milan and Lecco (Italy), hosted by POLIMI. On Day 1, Branka Cuca (local Principal Investigator) gave an introductory welcome, presenting the activities and logistics of all three days of the visit in more detail. POLIMI team consisting of Branka Cuca and Daniela Oreni has accompanied all members of CUT team for a visit of the Campus Leonardo University premises. A specific visit was payed to LaborA, a technological laboratory of Politecnico di Milano.
The second day of the visit was dedicated to a full day visit to Lecco Campus of POLIMI. CUT team was accompanied by local staff Branka Cuca to Lecco; the team was welcomed by local staff Luigi Barazzetti to then have a short tour of the town. During this visit, a stop was made at the Canottieri building (the Lecco Rowing club), one of the case studies presented later during the day.
At POLIMI Lecco Campus premises, CUT staff was welcomed by Prof. Manuela Grecchi, vice-rector of Lecco Campus (affiliated to Department ABC). Prof. Cuca made the introduction of the activities planned for the day, while the first lecture was then given by Prof. Barazzetti on digital recording and monitoring methods for heritage buildings. The case studies presented have been a starting point for a fruitful discussion and exchange of best practices from both-sides on both research activities, but also activities linked to professional consulting, logistics and administration.
The last day of the visit was dedicated two activities. The first activity regarded a general discussion and update of WP1, specifically T1.1 lead by POLIMI. In December, the Heads of four CUT labs in visit have received a questionnaire developed by POLIMI and UCL for purposes of WP1.
