Participation of ENGINEER members at CIPA Summer School (19-25 May 2024 – Rhodes, Greece)

Members of the Engineer Project, Professor Dimitrios Skarlatos, Kyriakos Michaelides and George Kafataris participated in the 2024 CIPA Summer School held in Rhodes, Greece from May 19-25, 2024. This event focused on 3D surveying and modelling in cultural heritage, offering a blend of theoretical lectures on topics like photogrammetry and laser scanning, and practical fieldwork with both commercial and open-source processing software.

Participants gained hands-on experience in data acquisition with state-of-the-art equipment and data processing methods for 3D model generation. Conducted in English, this summer school was an incredible opportunity for MSc and PhD students, archaeologists, architects, restorers, conservationists, geomatic engineers, and other professionals in the heritage field to deepen their knowledge. The participation was part of a staff exchange for the Engineer Project from CUT, with Polimi from Milan also taking part.
