EOCult presentation for Mongolian students

The Earth Observation Cultural Heritage Research Lab presented its activities to a group of Mongolian students during their visit to Cyprus, and specifically the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory at Cyprus University of Technology.

During the insightful presentation led by Argyro Argyrou, the students were engaged in an in-depth discussion about the crucial role of remote sensing in the preservation and study of cultural heritage. This topic resonated strongly with their academic interests and future aspirations in the field. Argyrou highlighted various applications of remote sensing technology, illustrating how it can enhance the understanding and conservation of historical sites.

The presentation also featured detailed case studies from the Connecting and Engineer projects, showcasing real-world examples of how remote sensing has been successfully employed to uncover and protect cultural heritage sites. Through these discussions, the students gained valuable insights into the intersection of technology and heritage management, inspiring them to consider innovative approaches in their own work and studies.

We would like to thank the Digital Heritage Research Laboratory for the invitation and in particular Marinos Ioannides, Director of UNESCO Chair on Digital Cultural Heritage at the Cyprus University of Technology and Drew Baker for coordinating the meeting.”
