Drilling

During the summer school program held at the Tombs of the Kings in Paphos, a significant part of the fieldwork involved collecting soil samples. This was accomplished by using a specialized drill to extract core samples from various locations within the archaeological site. The core samples, carefully extracted to preserve the stratigraphy, were then stored for transportation. Once the fieldwork phase is completed, these samples will be transferred to the laboratory. In the controlled environment of the laboratory, detailed analyses will be conducted to understand the soil composition, structure, and any potential historical or environmental data that can be derived from them.
