MSc Students re-use ENGINEER 1st Summer School Data
The low-altitude drone RGB images captured during the first summer school of the ENGINEER project have been re-used in the educational curriculum of the “Geoinformatics and Earth Observation” Master Programme at the Department of Civil Engineering and Geomatics, Cyprus University of Technology. MSc students enrolled in the course GEO 554 “Digital Imaging, Photogrammetry & Computer Vision,” led by Prof. Dimitrios Skarlatos, are utilizing these datasets to develop advanced photogrammetric skills. This hands-on exercise involves air triangulation and orthophoto production of the “Tombs of the Kings” archaeological site, using specialized photogrammetric software. By engaging with this activity, students gain practical experience in digital imaging techniques, enhancing their proficiency with tools relevant to archaeological documentation and cultural heritage preservation.
