ENGINEER Project Supports Thesis on Automated Crack Detection at Tombs of the Kings

The ENGINEER project provided access to photographic material and datasets produced for the Tombs of the Kings site to support a student’s diploma thesis. The research focused on the automated detection of structural cracks using digital image processing techniques and MATLAB. The thesis was supervised by Dr. Athos Agapiou, with the advisory committee consisting of Ass. Professor Athos Agapiou, Prof. Phaedon Kyriakidis, and Prof. Dimitrios Skarlatos. This initiative reflects the project’s commitment to supporting academic research and capacity building in cultural heritage documentation.
