International events of GIS and Remote Sensing of Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine

Athos Agapiou presented and promoted the ENGINEER project at the International Summer School on Remote Sensing, organized by the “GIS and Remote Sensing Laboratory” of the National Center “Junior Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.” The event gathered over 60 participants from around the world, offering a global platform for knowledge exchange in geospatial technologies.

Participants were trained on the use of free public platforms such as Copernicus Browser, Google Earth Pro, Google My Maps, and NASA Giovanni. They learned how to detect wildfires and burned areas, monitor disappearing water bodies, track atmospheric changes in air quality, and apply remote sensing data for emergency monitoring and environmental analysis.
