Day 3 – ENGINEER Summer School 3: “Information Management Systems for Cultural Heritage”
The third day of the ENGINEER Summer School 3: “Information Management Systems for Cultural Heritage” kicked off on Thursday, 12th of June 2025, at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) premises in Paphos. Coordinated by Politecnico di Milano (POLIMI), the day combined fieldwork with expert-led sessions focused on digital heritage innovation.
Participants began the day with a technical visit to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Tombs of the Kings, a central case study of the ENGINEER project. All project partners joined the excursion, which is linked to Work Package 6. The visit offered hands-on insight into how real-world archaeological contexts inform the development of digital heritage tools.
As part of the fieldwork, CONNECTING equipment used in the framework of the ENGINEER Horizon Europe Project was deployed to support in-situ measurements and data collection. The results gathered from these activities will be processed and integrated into the ENGINEER project’s broader research outputs, contributing valuable data to enhance the project’s methodologies and outcomes.
