Outdoor Visit to Roman and Medieval Milan, Visit to “Museo de Cenacolo Vinciano”, UNESCO WHS

Participants took part in a guided tour of Milan, exploring key historical sites showcasing the city's evolution from the Roman era to the Middle Ages. The visit provided insights into urban conservation challenges and adaptive reuse strategies. Keynote Address

Staff Exchange, CUT team members visited Milano (WP4)

CUT Staff Exchanges (SE4) took place in POLIMI between 23-24 January 2025. During this 2-day event, CUT staff had the opportunity to take outdoor to roman and medieval Milan and POLIMI campus. This event is part of the ENGINEER project, focusing on innovative research in civil engineering and geomatics for heritage conservation. The exchange provides a platform for knowledge transfer, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the exploration of best practices in architectural preservation and heritage management.

Lecture: Statistical Learning from Complex Spatial Data

The lecture will cover methods for extracting patterns, building models, and interpreting data in the context of spatial phenomena.

Hands-on Session on Collaborative Mapping

In this interactive session, Quang Huy Nguyen, a Research Fellow at Politecnico di Milano, will guide participants through collaborative mapping techniques. This hands-on activity will emphasize the importance of public participation in mapping efforts, as well as how open geo-data can be used to enhance collaboration among stakeholders in urban planning and environmental management.

Detection of buried archaeological remains based on identification of archaeological proxies, such as cropmarks, has been widely used.
