Athos Agapiou was invited earlier today to radio broadcasting at Radio Proto. Dr Agapiou was invited as part of his recently ISDE Young Scientist Award.
Internal CUT meeting
Following the previous week tele-meeting a new physical meeting between the CUT member took place in the premises of the university. The scope of this meeting was to further discuss common activities between geomatics and civil engineers as part of the further discussions that will take place next week during the first annual meeting between all partners.
New Tools for Probing Ancient Cypriot Architecture and Landscape
A new joint publication between CUT members, focusing on new advances in image processing that allow fascinating new insights to be gleaned from archived aerial images, and studies of both new and ancient seismic events are giving us a new understanding of the ancient world and how to preserve what remains. ENGINEER project at “The 7th Digital Belt and Road Conference”
Literature overview related to geomatics for cultural heritage, as part of the ENGINEER project was presented earlier today at the “The 7th Digital Belt and Road Conference”. The oral presentation was part of the “Natural and Cultural Heritages enable Sustainable Development Goals” session, co-chaired by Dr. Wang Xinyuan, Dr. Rosa Lasaponara and Dr. Luo Lei. Internal CUT meeting
A tele- meeting was organised earlier today between the CUT members to plan the activities of the forthcoming 1st annual ENGINEER meeting that will take place between 11th and 12th of Sep. 2023 in Limassol. An update of the progress of the ENGINEER project was made by the coordinator of the project, while a discussion was followed to key points raised during the first year of activities of the project.
Success in “Strategic Research Infrastructure” calls
ENGINEER team members have secured a “Strategic Research Infrastructure proposal”. The evaluation result for the proposal submitted under the SMALL-SCALE INFRASTRUCTURES call of the Research and Innovation Foundation was announced earlier today. Dr Agapiou, recipient of the prestigious ISDE Young Scientist Award
After careful consideration by the Awards Committee, Dr. Agapiou has been selected to receive the prestigious ISDE (International Society of Digital Earth) Young Scientist Award 2023 by the International Society for Digital Earth - Young Scientist Innovation Network. The Award recognizes a significant achievement and dedicated service by an individual in the field of Digital Earth and outstanding accomplishments of young individuals (< 45 years old).
