Invitation from UniBari as a Program Committee – ICCSA International Conference

Dr Athos Agapiou was invited earlier today from colleagues at university of Bari to be a member of the Program Committee for the upcoming workshop titled "Geomatics for Resource Monitoring and Management" (https://iccsa.org/workshops), part of the 24th International Conference on Computational Science and Its Applications (ICCSA) (https://iccsa.org).The ICCSA conference will take place from 1st to 4th of July at the Thuyloi University, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Visit at the Tombs of the Kings for site inspection

On February 21st, Dr Nicholas Kyriakides, Dr Renos Votsis and Dr Orestes Marangos, visited the archaeological site, Tombs of the Kings in Paphos. The purpose of the visit was to conduct a visual structural inspection of the tombs, with a primary focus on observing and documenting the primary fissures on the stone monuments. ENGINEER project – DLR International Conference on Geoinformation Data, Processing and Applications – DLR GeoDPA 2024

After an invitation from the German Aerospace Centre (DLR), space-based and geoinformation applications carried out by the CUT team for heritage will be presented at the DLR International Conference on Geoinformation Data, that is expected to be carried out between 23-25.4.2024 in Oldenburg, Lower-Saxonie. This is the first International Conference that DLR is organised in the last 20 years. Glad to be part of it!

Interim report uploaded

Earlier today Deliverable 8.3 (Interim Report) of the ENGINEER project has been submitted to the participant portal. A jointly great effort from all the partners of the project, indicating the different activities carried out so far from Month 1 to Month 16 of the project. In the next few weeks, the ENGINEER project will be evaluated remotely by an expert in the field.

Internal meeting between the PIs of the advanced partners and CUT

A meeting was held earlier this day between CUT members and the PIs of the advanced partners to discuss and finalize the details of the upcoming activities Workshop 3 and Summer School 2. Virtual Lecture: “Discover Entrepreneurship” (Industry & Knowledge Transfer actions)

JanusExplore – Omniasphere data re-used from CONNECTING project

JanusExplore mobile laser scanner was tested for data collection at the Tombs of the Kings. In case of proceeding with JanusExplore purchase, the equipment will be acquired via CONNECTING project although the data will be re-used in ENGINEER project. The potential acquisition of the laser scanner will also facilitate the planned activities of the CUT team within the context of the ongoing research projects while engaging national stakeholders (i.e., DoA) in the data collection process.
